Science
Key Stage 4 Overview
GCSE Science is compulsory in Years 10 and 11
During the Year 9 Programme of Study, a series of assessments are carried out to measure progress and attainment. These assessments are also used to help inform us which Science set would be most appropriate for your child to be placed in during Year 10. Your child will be carefully placed so that they will achieve the very best they can in Science.
The Pearson Edexcel GCSE (9–1) in Combined Science consists of six externally examined papers (70 mins each).
The exams consist of a mixture of different question styles, including multiple-choice questions, short answer
questions, calculations and extended open-response questions.
These are available at foundation tier and higher tier.
Students must complete all assessments in the same tier.
Students must complete all assessment in May/June of Year 11.
