Able and Talented

Mission statement

“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took, and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”

Matthew 13:31-32

We will nurture the growth of each pupil in our care through the artistic, academic, creative, practical, social, moral, physical and spiritual aspects of school life.

Here at St Bede’s our aim, as indicated in our mission statement, is to provide the opportunity for each individual to flourish in order to serve the Common Good.

As a school we recognise the uniqueness, individual talents and abilities of our pupils and seek at all times to maximise the academic, spiritual, physical and creative potential of all pupils. Whilst we aim to provide an appropriately challenging learning environment for all pupils we recognise that our most able and talented pupils within school have specific requirements.

We support our able and talented learners by providing challenging lessons and through the broad range of extra-curricular clubs and enrichment activities, which take place throughout the school year. Our school curriculum also provides opportunities for more able pupils to develop high level skills and attributes such as; leadership, decision making and organisation.
