Year 7

Caring for Your Child

Welcome to Year 7

Dear Parents and Pupils,

Welcome to St Bede's and Year 7.

Starting a new school is very exciting and also great fun and we hope you are looking forward to spending the next 5 years here.
You will be part of a warm and friendly school community offering all the support you need to help you feel at ease and to achieve your very best. It is a big step starting Year 7 in a secondary school, especially if you are from a small primary school or there are a small number of you coming here. Please be rest assured that you will be made very welcome; your happiness, health and well-being is important to us.

Please don't worry about becoming lost as everyone here; staff and pupils will be more than happy to help you find your way. If you find that you are struggling completing homework, it is best to speak to the class teacher or me. There may be strategies we can implement to help you.

You will meet lots of staff and pupils at the start of year 7, hopefully friendships that will last a lifetime! You will spend time at the beginning of each day with your form group, what I like to call your school family! You will then move onto your classes in your teaching groups.

Your school planner will need to be signed each week by someone at home. Your form tutor will then check that you are using this correctly. Please have your school planner with you every day. You will also need a pencil case with school stationary, you will find a list on the pastoral notice board by my teaching room.

I am always here to help and you can talk to me at any time. You also have the support of your form tutor and the year 7 pastoral team will be on your journey through St Bede's for the next 5 years.

Regards,

Mr P Lockyer
