Autumn 2015

4th December 2015

Dear Parents /Carers

On Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st October, our school was visited by Ofsted and a highly successful inspection found the school to be good overall. The full inspection report can now be accessed via the school website. I would like to thank many of you for contacting the Ofsted team directly to offer your positive comments on the work of our school and those of you who did so through Parent View. In addition, I would like to pass on my heartfelt thanks to all of our pupils who behaved impeccably during the inspection; they were a credit to their families.

As the Christmas break approaches, may I thank you for your support during the Autumn term.

School Carol Service

The last week of term sees our preparations for Christmas gather pace with our School Carol Service taking place on Monday 14th December at 7.00pm in St. Anne’s Church. Last year’s wonderful Carol Service provided an opportunity for our community to come together in song and prayer to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. All parents/carers are most welcome to attend this year’s service and we look forward to seeing you at St Anne’s on that evening.

Arrangements for Last Day

School will close for Christmas on Friday 18th December at 12.50pm and the school buses have been arranged for the early finish. Please make arrangements for your child’s safe return home at this time.

Spring Term 2016

School re-opens for all pupils on Tuesday 5th January 2016. The Parents’ Evenings for the Spring Term will take place on the following dates:

* Year 11 Thursday 25th February 2016

* Year 9 Thursday 3rd March 2016

* Year 10 Thursday 17th March 2016

There will be a special Guidance Evening on Wednesday 20th January 2016 for parents of pupils in Year 9 during which a presentation will be made outlining the options available for pupils to select their GCSE studies.

It only remains for me, on behalf of the whole community of St Bede’s, to wish you and your families a very peaceful and Holy Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Yours sincerely

Mr C Horrocks
